SPIDERS 3D will receive its world premiere during the opening night of the LA 3D Film Festival on September 20th
"The city is crawling"
Written by Joseph Farrugia and Tibor Takacs, Spiders 3D is about a crash of a derelict Soviet space station into a Manhattan subway tunnel. Scuttling amongst the wreckage is a new species of spider – not your average house spider however; these spiders are furious and mutate to massive proportions. A MTA subway employee (Jason) discovers a giant spider's nest filled with egg sacs but is denied further access to his own subway station as the government try to take control of the situation although their real agenda is to capture and experiment on the oversized creatures, hoping to harness their webbing for a new type of stealth material unlike anything else on earth.
The military, in order to preserve their top-secret research, attempt to neutralise the handful of civilians who know what’s going on. The subway worker and his ex-wife Rachael are branded as infected criminals and chased through the city. When the nasty Dr. Aranov discovers Rachel has the special queen eggs needed for the nest to flourish they are put into quarantine zone.
While the queen hatches and grows exponentially, the military fight a losing battle to control the spider colony. The now giant 60-foot queen emerges from below the street and rampages through Manhattan (in 3D!) Jason and Rachael escape from quarantine are find their daughter Emily trapped in a huge web in the spider queen’s underground lair.
Spiders 3D is produced by Millennium Films who have also made The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D - a direct sequel to the original 1974 film which will be released in January next year.
