Exceptional 3D launch portrait glasses free 3D displays
As the autostereoscopic display market gets ever more competitive, New York based Exceptional 3D announce the 'Portrait Series' to complement their landscape displays.

Exceptional 3D won the ‘Best In Show’ award at the recent 2012 Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas and will be showcasing their new 46” portrait display at InfoComm 2012 (booth #C8719) in Las Vegas, June 13 – 15.
Until today’s announcement, Tridelity were the only autostereoscopic display company offering portrait panels and Exceptional 3D will hope their portrait panels will appeal more to high traffic public areas such as airports, train stations, retail environments and movie theatres where advertising is typically displayed in a portrait format.
“We’re very excited to bring the first-ever lenticular Portrait Series 3D displays into the market as part of our growing product portfolio of patented 3D technology,” said Dan Fischer, COO for Exceptional 3D. “In 2D digital signage, portrait display solutions are readily available,” continued Mr. Fischer, “and we have seen a steadily increasing demand for glasses-free 3D portrait display solutions.” Mr. Fischer finished in saying,
“We believe there is no reason that the glasses-free 3D industry shouldn’t naturally support that same orientation. We put this high on our 3D product road-map because we knew we could deliver a leading glasses-free 3D experience just the same as we’ve done with all of our current Landscape Series 3D displays.”
Like the company’s landscape models, the portrait series will be able to play both 3D content, as well as legacy 2D content in sequence or at the same time through content management software solutions.
The first model, the EX3D-P-46, is 46” in size, offers 1920 X 1080 resolution, 340 cd/m2 brightness, a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a 3D viewing angle of 50° / 50°.
