China based 2D to 3D conversion house launches in USA

Cubic Pictures of China have announced a presence in North America after signing a representation deal with a prepress house.

Cubic Pictures have created a patented conversion technology known as DXR which has been used to converted over a dozen projects from live action to commercials including a commercial for CCTV and the film ‘Flying Swords of the Dragon Gate’.

DXR® provides both local and remote stereoscopic viewing and adjustment tools that are integrated into the DXR® pipeline. They claim their 3D preview system matches that of digital cinema to mimic the closest experience to that in theatres.

Cubic Pictures enter an increasingly crowded 2D to 3D conversion market in North America dominated by Legend3D, In-Three and PassmoreLab.
