First ever gathering of 3D pioneers set to take place this month at Discovery 11 in Toronto, Canada.
On May 18 and 19, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) is presenting Ontario Projection: Advances in 3D, featuring expert panels, speakers and exhibitor showcases on cutting-edge 3D technology and content.
The event is part of Discovery 11, a leading innovation-to-commercialization conference hosted annually by OCE. In 2010, Discovery was recognized as Canada’s Best Trade Show.
Ontario Projection: Advances in 3D, in collaboration with local partners, FilmOntario, the S3D Gaming Alliance, and 3D FLIC, will feature presentations by some of North America’s leading 3D visionaries.
Roman Kroitor, Co-founder of IMAX and Chairman and Founder of Janro Imaging Labs, will participate in a panel discussion around the 3D consumer experience and expectations. Lon Molnar, CEO and VFX Supervisor of Intelligent Creatures, will lend his expertise to a stereo 3D conversion panel.
For 3D gamers, David Coombes, Platform Research Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment America, will speak about the evolution and future of 3D gaming.
Other guest speakers include James Stewart, Producer and Director of Geneva Films, Fred Mattocks, General Manager, Media Operations and Technology, at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Indra Laksono, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer with ViXs, and Robert Montgomery, CEO of Achilles Media Ltd.
